Crafton won Featherlite Southwest Series title in 2000 and finished ninth in the Truck Series finale at California Speedway in November of 2000 and that was enough to impress Thorson into giving him a multi-year contract to drive the No. 88 Chevy.
Crafton's rookie season in the NASCAR Truck Series wasn't all that bad in 2001. Started all 24 events and had 11 top-10 finishes, including a best of sixth at both Martinsville and Pikes Peak and finishing 12th in points.
In 2004 Crafton drove for Kevin Harvick Inc. and finished 5th in points. Had 6 top-5 and 17 top-10 finishes and tied Carl Edwards for the most top-10 finishes in the series.
Crafton changed back to Thornsport Racing in 2005 and finished 9th in the points standings.
In 2008 Crafton captured his first Cup Series victory at Charlotte and finished 5th in the points race.
Finisehd 2nd in points in 2009 (career best). Crafton did not win a race, but was runner up five times. Set career-highs in top-5's (11), top-10's (21) and poles (2). Team is searching for a sponsor.
