John Wes Townley began his racing career in go-karts at the age of nine. From there he has successfully competed in the INEX Bandolero Division, NASCAR Camping World Series, USAR Pro Cup Series, and in the ASA Late Model ranks, where he took home a victory at New Senoia Raceway (GA) in September 2007.
He joins RAB Racing for 2008 in the ARCA RE/MAX Series to run a full schedule and attempt to capture rookie of the year honors.
Townley made his Nationwide debut in 2008 at Dover. Only ran 2 other races in that season and finished 92nd in points.
2009 was not the best season for Townley in the Nationwide series. He started 26 races and had 10 DNF in the season. Still posted a career his in the points standing of 23rd.
