Hornaday won NASCAR Camping World Truck Series titles in 1996, 1998, 2007 and 2009 and is the all-time winningest driver in the series with 45 career victories.
In 2001, Hornaday made the move to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to drive the No. 14 A.J. Foyt Conseco entry. In his first full-time season in Cup he finished 38th in the points after posting only one Top-20 finish. That season he also raced 12 races for Curb-Agajanian Racing in the NASCAR Busch Series where he recorded seven Top-20 finishes.
Hornaday returned to the Nationwide Series Series full-time in 2003 after he was hired by Richard Childress to drive the No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet. He finished the season a career-best third in the final standings after posting one win, eight Top-5’s, and 17 Top-10 finishes.
He will return to the Truck Series in 2004 and drive the No. 6 Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick.
Hornaday was the 2007 NASCAR Craftsmen Truck Series Champion, driving for DeLana Harvick. For his winning season, he gained four victories (one being from the Bud Pole at New Hampshire Int'l Speedway) and 13 top-five and 22 top-10 finishes. After 10 years racing in the Truck Series, Hornaday is a three-time Champion.
Hornaday was second in points in 2008 only 7 points behind Johnny Benson and collected 6 wins for the season.
2009 brought another Truck Series Championship win. Won six races for consecutive seasons and for the fourth time in his career (won 7 in 1997). Won 5 consecutive races from June 20 (Milwaukee) to Aug. 1 (Nashville). Became the third driver to win 5 consecutive races in a NASCAR national touring series, the first in 38 years, joining Richard Petty and Bobby Allison.
