Starting Lineup

Rain showers at Talladega Superspeedway have forced the cancellation of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying for Sunday's AMP Energy 500, awarding Jimmie Johnson the pole.

It's only the second time in the history of Cup racing at Talladega that qualifying has been cancelled.

Johnson was the last driver to benefit from cancelled qualifying in the fall of 2002. He started on the pole for both Talladega events that season, but hasn't earned a pole start since. He enters this weekend's race with a commanding 118-point lead in the standings over second-place Mark Martin.

Sunday's AMP Energy 500 is set to start at 1 p.m. (ET) with coverage beginning at Noon on ABC and MRN.
